This marker is at the Lynn Canyon Suspension bridge which hangs above the infamous waterslide on the circuit at Lynn Canyon. If you start here at the waterslide, you can either hit the water slide or jump off several perches of varying heights. If you look above up and the jumpers left, you will see a small fence, that is the drop called Gateway. Afterwards, you have a second mandatory cliff from 20-80 feet depending on where you hit it. Now if you swim out of this second pool, you can climb out on the left side and do a quick lap, or continue downstream along The Circuit. Further downstream there are numerous other cliffs, its a beautiful and scenic canyoning experience, but if you don't want to stay in the cold water, you can just walk down the train to get to Twin Falls Bridge. There is a sick drop just a little upriver, there are a couple of differents (and mega sketchy jumps) right off the bridge, different hits into the Abyss (the middle pool on the dual waterfalls) and a bunch of different drops into the lower pool. That is the end of The Circuit. Upriver from the waterslide is the zone called Thirty Foot Pool, but the cliffs are pretty medium and the real gnar starts at the waterslide. That being said, 30 foot pool is a nice place to swim and there are some cool drops, but it's a more of a family zone.
DO NOT jump here unless the water level is very low! I would only recommend coming here in late August if it has not rained in a while. There are deadly currents here and you must only go at low water. PEOPLE DIE HERE ALL THE TIME. If this is your first visit, try to go in the middle or late august and hang around and wait until someone comes through who is experienced and can show you around. DON'T FUCK AROUND, THIS PLACE IS DANGEROUS! But once you've jumped here for a while, you get to know the water levels and can safely judge when it is appropriate to jump when and where and etc. |
