Sucia Island is a beautiful part of the American Gulf Islands near Washington State and Puget Sound. When I visited, we launched out from Point Roberts. It's a fairly small island with several bays and camping areas. When I visited, we stayed at Swallow Bay near the ancient dead forest marsh. Beautiful spot. The tides have carved the rocks into some incredible formations that are unique and inspiring. If you moor in the bays, stay far from shore as the tide goes out quite a ways and you may run aground. Some fun cliffs to jump around the island as well. Great spot to go on a summer boating trip!
